Highland Alpaca Yarn
$26.00
Fingering weight alpaca, spun fine for shawls, scarves and anything that wants drape rather than structure. Four hundred yards goes a long way at this gauge.
Alpaca has less memory than wool, so it hangs and lengthens rather than springing back. Design around that. It is a virtue in a shawl and a problem in a fitted cuff.
Blocking changes it substantially. Swatch and block the swatch before you trust your gauge.
