Birch Run Runner

Jute is a bast fibre, closer to rope than to wool, and it is the reason this runner shrugs off the grit tracked in from outside. The coarse weave swallows small debris until you vacuum it out.

The trade-off is water. Jute darkens and can mildew if it stays wet, so this belongs in an entry that dries out, not a bathroom.

Barefoot it reads as scratchy rather than soft. It is built for a hallway, not for lying on.
